About
Damask Rose Absolute is made from fresh Rosa × damascena petals grown and hand-picked in Isparta, Türkiye, and extracted within hours of harvest. A solvent-extracted absolute: viscous amber to orange-red, deep rosy and honeyed, with a waxy-floral drydown; no diluent or carrier oil.
Functional Properties
2-Phenylethanol carries the rosy-honeyed body at a specification of 74–84 %, a level characteristic of an absolute rather than a distilled rose oil. Citronellol 9–14 % and geraniol/nerol 3.5–6.5 % give the fresh, dewy top, while eugenol 0.4–1.0 % accounts for the soft clove-like warmth. Wax hydrocarbons, 0.8–2.0 % in total, produce the long, rounded drydown of a true absolute.
Quality
Total identified constituents reach ≥ 93 % by GC-FID, and methyleugenol is held at ≤ 0.20 %. Heavy metals are non-detectable, raw-material total ash is below 4 % and benzo(a)pyrene under 10 ppb. Soluble in ethanol and common fragrance solvents; 24-month shelf life in 1–5 kg bottles or 10–25–50 kg drums.
