  • Dosage and use: Juniper berry essential oil is used as a flavour ingredient in spirits (notably gin and aquavit), marinades and meat seasoning, and as a fragrance note in fine perfumery, masculine toiletries and household products. In cosmetic formulations it is valued for its clean, astringent character and is typically incorporated at 0.1–1.0 %. In flavour applications, dose to effect — usually well below 0.05 %. The oil is dominated by monoterpene hydrocarbons, principally α-pinene and myrcene. Not recommended for use during pregnancy.
