  • Dosage and use: Bergamot oil is the signature top note of Eau de Cologne and of Earl Grey tea flavourings. Fine-fragrance and personal-care formulators use it for a bright, sparkling citrus opening with more floral persistence than lemon or orange. In flavour work it lifts confectionery, black tea blends and bitter aperitifs. Aromatherapy applications emphasise mood elevation and relaxation. Note that expressed bergamot oil contains photosensitising furocoumarins; for leave-on skin products either observe the applicable dermal limit or specify a bergapten-reduced (FCF) grade.
