About
Yellow Pine Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the needles and wood of Pinus sylvestris. A colourless to pale yellow mobile liquid, fresh, resinous and terpenic, characteristic of pine, supplied pure and undiluted.
Functional Properties
Alpha-pinene dominates at a specification of min. 80 %: the bicyclic monoterpene behind the dry forest-air lift and the oil's solvency toward resins and non-polar soils. Around it sit beta-pinene 3.0–8.0 %, limonene 1.0–4.0 % and camphene 0.5–3.0 %. Pinene-rich oils autoxidise readily: store cool, dark and sealed, keep headspace low, check peroxide value before skin contact.
Quality
Nominated constituents total min. 90 % by GC-FID. Heavy metals are non-detectable, benzo(a)pyrene is under 10 ppb and the full microbiological panel complies. 24-month shelf life; supplied in 1–5 kg bottles or 10–25–50 kg drums.
