About

Mixed Tocopherol Concentrate is a natural, non-synthetic antioxidant recovered from the deodoriser distillate of refined seed oil — soybean, Glycine max, as declared in the TDS — standardised to ≥70.0% total tocopherols. A reddish-brown to light yellow clear oily liquid.

Functional Properties

Tocopherols are chain-breaking antioxidants: they interrupt lipid autoxidation and delay rancidity in fats and oils. Performance follows the isomer distribution, declared in full — d-α 5.0–15.0%, d-β 0.5–4.0%, d-γ 35.0–50.0%, d-δ 15.0–28.0% — with β+γ+δ at ≥80.0% of total tocopherols. Typical addition is 200–500 ppm on total fat for refined vegetable oils, 500–1000 ppm for high-PUFA systems.

Quality

Tocopherols by HPLC-FLD to the FCC monograph; identity by colour reaction and retention time. Specific rotation ≥+20° confirms natural d-isomer origin. Benzo(a)pyrene ≤2 ppb; heavy metals not detected. Carrier: refined sunflower oil, ≤30% by weight. Allergen note: soybean-derived (Glycine max). Shelf life 24 months unopened.

Applications

  • Edible oils and fats: oxidative stabilisation of refined oils, frying fats and high-PUFA oils
  • Emulsions and bakery: fillings, creams and dairy analogues; disperse into the oil phase at 40–60 °C
  • Pet food and cosmetics: protection of the lipid fraction in feed and oil-phase formulations
