About

Sage Terpene Extract is a brown-green aromatic oil from Salvia triloba (Greek sage) leaves, rich in volatile terpenes, standardised to more than 5% camphor. This is the terpenic fraction of the plant, distinct from the antioxidant (carnosic acid) grade. GC-verified composition: camphor (8.3%, CAS 76-22-2), β-thujone (3.6%), α-thujone (2.6%), β-humulene (4.4%), (E)-caryophyllene (2.9%), borneol (1.1%).

Functional Properties

Category totals: monoterpenoids 19.8%, sesquiterpenoids 15.6%, diterpenoids 8.5% (including manool 5.6%). Key advantage: Greek sage's combined thujone content (6.2%) is significantly lower than common sage (S. officinalis), making it preferable for extended-use applications in oral care and cosmetics.

Quality

Pure supercritical CO₂ extract—no carrier added. Soluble in fixed oils. Heavy metals non-detectable. Full GC-MS/GC-FID analysis available.
